The Gorilla Project is a private initiative that was born of a huge passion for gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since 1996, the country has been engulfed by constant armed conflicts, and thus poverty, instability and omnipresent violence, in which nearly 6 million people have died as a result. Under these conditions, nature conservation is extremely difficult. The aim of the project is to actively support park employees and local communities in order to fight for the survival of these amazing animals.
